William Cross

This years judges:

We were most fortunate to invite Joe Craig Esq., Chairman of the NHLS, and David Whitaker Esq., Secretary of the NHLS. Both live in Lancashire but were staying in Leicestershire to look at the hedges for the Hedgelaying Championships to be held at Stanford Hall on 28th October 2023.

The judges thoroughly enjoyed the day’s judging and commented upon the high standard of much of the cutting.

The added bonus was the amount of white thorn blossom that bedecked the hedgerows.

David Walker receiving a bottle of whisky for a challenging hedge, Laura Turner receiving trophy for winning Class 2, and William Bevin receiving his award for The Best Regrowth 2023 All presented by the Society’s President Richard Wright Esq.
